In the early morning hours of December 6, 2008, the life of 25-year-old Brandon Lee Brinkley, a Black male from Wilmington, Delaware, was tragically cut short. Police responded to a complaint of shots fired in the 2700 block of Northeast Boulevard at 3:38 a.m. There they discovered Brinkley, who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to Christiana Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His death marked the 24th homicide in Wilmington that year.
