On January 7, 2016, just before 1 a.m., Delaware State Police responded to a chilling 911 call from a woman reporting a home invasion in progress on Conrail Road, Bridgeville. The scene that awaited them was grim: 35-year-old James F. Dickerson lay lifeless in the kitchen, a gunshot wound marking a tragic end. While the residence was occupied by four other individuals – a 53-year-old woman and three men – they miraculously escaped physical harm.
