Black/African American male Michael Jamar Givens, 27, was killed on March 8, 2016, in Wilmington, Delaware. Late that morning, Wilmington police responded to reports of gunfire; a man with gunshot wounds to his back and arm was rushed to Christiana Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The fatal shooting unfolded near North Market and Gordon streets, drawing detectives and patrol officers into a midday homicide scene that left a neighborhood stunned and searching for answers.
