Nyden Holmes, an 18-year-old Black/African American male, was killed in Wilmington, Delaware, on August 12, 2021, after gunfire broke out in the area of 4th and Harrison Streets in the city's Hilltop neighborhood. Wilmington police responded at about 1:20 p.m. and found Holmes suffering from gunshot wounds. He was still alive when officers reached him, and he was taken to a hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
