On April 14, 2023, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Laurel Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the 100 block of Sunset Drive in the Wexford Village Apartments. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Corey Mumford behind one of the apartment buildings, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers initiated CPR and other life-saving measures until emergency medical services arrived. Mumford was then transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. ...Read More
