Zyair Burton, a 24-year-old Black / African American male, was identified by Wilmington police as the victim of a fatal shooting in Wilmington, Delaware. Online reports tied to police updates place the shooting on Monday night, September 25, 2023, rather than August 28, 2023. Officers were dispatched around 8:21 p.m. to the 400 block of South Claymont Street, in the city’s Southbridge area, after reports of gunfire.
