On November 8, 2007, in Prentiss, Maine, 70-year-old Mario "Sonny" Litterio was fatally shot near his home. His close friend, 48-year-old Joseph Dumas, was charged with his murder. Dumas confessed to the crime, stating he was under the influence of cocaine at the time of the incident.
