In the early morning hours of June 20, 1975, Robert McKee, a 35-year-old White/Caucasian male, was working the overnight shift at McNally's Texaco station in Newport, Maine. A married father of two and a respected sixth-grade teacher at the Vickery School in nearby Pittsfield, McKee had taken on the summer job to earn extra money for his family.
