On July 6, 2014, 42-year-old Russell C. "Chris" Lavoie of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was fatally shot in a Biddeford apartment alongside 37-year-old Jeffrey Lude of Biddeford. The incident occurred at 19 Western Avenue around 7 p.m. Both men were pronounced dead shortly after the shooting.
