In the early hours of Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, the Upton neighborhood of West Baltimore was disturbed by the sound of gunfire. Police were called to the 1700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue around 1:23 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene just outside The Avenue Market, where two individuals had been shot.
