On June 17, 2021, firefighters responded to a blaze at 259 Hardscrabble Road in Limington, Maine, where they discovered the bodies of Daniel Perkins, 46, and his girlfriend, Cheryl Cote, 47. Investigators determined that both victims had suffered gunshot wounds prior to the fire, indicating that the blaze was set intentionally to cover up the homicides.
