On August 8, 2020, Christian Skylar Henning, a 25-year-old White/Caucasian male, was fatally shot in Billings, Montana. The incident occurred outside a Dairy Queen restaurant while Henning was seated in his car. Just three days prior, he had celebrated his 25th birthday. A dispute over a $100 recording deal with a fellow member of the local music scene escalated into a tragic and fatal confrontation.
The man responsible for the shooting was 30-year-old Rahim Lee Calloway.
He approached Henning's vehicle and fired multiple rounds, leading to Henning's death at the scene. Following the shooting, Calloway fled but later surrendered to the authorities. He was subsequently charged with deliberate homicide.
In April 2021, Rahim Lee Calloway pleaded guilty to the murder of Christian Henning. Two months later, in June 2021, he was sentenced to 60 years in prison for his crime. Henning, who was originally from Tacoma, Washington, had moved to Glasgow, Montana, in 2005. He was a dedicated hip-hop and rap artist and had established his own music production company, Basic Production LLC. He was a father to a son and a daughter and was remembered by loved ones for his caring personality and sense of humor.
