In the early hours of April 23, 2022, a single act of violence in the parking lot of America's Wild West bar in Billings, Montana, irrevocably altered the lives of a family and a community. Domonic Shawn Dale Morgan, a 29-year-old Black/African American man, was fatally shot, his life cut short in a manner that continues to raise questions. His death was officially ruled a homicide, caused by a single gunshot wound to the torso.
