On February 13, 2016, 32-year-old Jordan Stenersen, originally from Salmon, Idaho, was fatally shot in Salmon. Authorities responded to a call at 662 Highway 93 North, where they found Stenersen critically injured. Despite efforts by deputies and EMS personnel to perform CPR, Stenersen was pronounced dead at Steele Memorial Hospital.
