In the quiet, early morning hours of January 15, 2024, a domestic dispute in a residence on North Maple Grove Lane in Bannock County, Idaho, ended in the tragic death of 49-year-old Zacary M. Shumway, a White/Caucasian male from Pocatello. Deputies from the Bannock County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at approximately 1:17 a.m. and discovered Shumway deceased from a gunshot wound.
The incident prompted an immediate homicide investigation by local authorities.
At the time of the incident, three other individuals were present in the home, none of whom were injured. Investigators quickly identified and interviewed all persons of interest, who were reported to be cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
