On August 30, 2022, 49-year-old John Carl Walker of Chubbuck, Idaho, was fatally shot at the Extended Stay Pocatello, located at 291 W. Burnside in Chubbuck. The incident occurred around 11:26 p.m., prompting a response from Chubbuck Police officers, Chubbuck EMS, and Bannock County Ambulance. Despite lifesaving efforts, Walker succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
