On April 17, 2024, 21-year-old Danny Borges Santiago of Caldwell, Idaho, was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance. At approximately 5:30 a.m., Caldwell Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a residence on the 12000 block of Trinidad Street. Upon arrival, they found Santiago with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m.
