In what began as a road rage incident, Cody Stanphill-Kiser, a 32-year-old White/Caucasian male, was shot and killed on April 1, 2022, in Caldwell, Idaho. The events leading to his death started on U.S. 20-26 when the truck Stanphill-Kiser was a passenger in and a Mazda CX-5 were involved in a roadway altercation. Occupants of both vehicles reportedly exchanged hand gestures as they drove.
