On April 1, 2022, 32-year-old Cody M. Stanphill-Kiser of Vale, Oregon, was fatally shot in Caldwell, Idaho, in what authorities described as a road rage incident. According to court records, Stanphill-Kiser was a passenger in a pickup truck traveling on U.S. 26 east of Interstate 84 when another vehicle began following them.
