The new year of 2020 brought tragedy to the town of Williamstown, Vermont, with the death of 23-year-old Jonathan Gilbert. On January 1st, Gilbert was found deceased in his home with a gunshot wound.

Initial reports indicated that Gilbert's death was considered suspicious, and an investigation was launched by the Vermont State Police. The investigation, which included an autopsy and forensic analysis, determined that Gilbert's death was a homicide.
