On November 7, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Rutland City Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash near State Street and Cleveland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 26-year-old Jonathan Naranjo of Brooklyn, New York, deceased inside a vehicle that had collided in the area. Subsequent investigation revealed that Naranjo had suffered gunshot wounds to the torso and upper extremity, leading authorities to classify his death as a homicide.
