On a summer day in Rutland, Vermont, the life of a 36-year-old Black or African American man, Sincere Johnson, was tragically cut short. On June 12, 2022, Johnson was killed in what was later determined to be a homicide. The cause of his death was a shooting. While most sources state Johnson was 36, at least one report gives his age as 46. Originally from New York, the circumstances that brought him to Rutland remain part of the unfolding story of his untimely death.
