On January 5, 2018, 28-year-old Samuel Louis Crockett was fatally shot in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The incident occurred outside an apartment building during a drug-related confrontation. Crockett, along with 30-year-old Corey James Zephier, was involved in a planned drug deal that escalated into violence. Zephier died at the scene, while Crockett succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.
