On the night of September 4, 2024, Sioux Falls police responded to reports of gunshots at a mobile home in the 6000 block of West Tanager Place. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 27-year-old Tanisha AdaLynn Bruguier in a back bedroom; she had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. This incident marked the city's seventh homicide of the year.
