On July 20, 2015, at approximately 9:30 a.m., 67-year-old Dwight M. Brockman, owner of The Coin Shop in downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming, was fatally shot during an armed robbery. His friend, 76-year-old George "Doc" Manley, was also killed in the incident. The murders occurred just blocks from the Depot Plaza, where a Cheyenne Frontier Days pancake breakfast was concluding, with large crowds present in the area.
