On August 25, 2023, deputies with the Natrona County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting on the 4700 block of Boles Road in Natrona County near Casper. Upon arrival, they found two men unconscious with gunshot wounds; both were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The Natrona County Coroner identified the victim as Stephen Francis “Steve” Skaj, a 58-year-old white male.
