On Thursday, December 10, 2015, west of Casper, Wyoming, James Wright, a 46-year-old male from Natrona County, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a recreational shooting area off Coal Mountain Road.

Deputies responded to the range that afternoon after a report of a fatal shooting; the incident was handled as an accidental, self-inflicted death rather than a crime. The Natrona County Sheriff's Office notified next of kin at the scene.
