On September 24, 2016, 44-year-old Tara Tevaga was fatally shot in the chest inside Cutie's Cafe in Honolulu's Chinatown during a robbery. A 30-year-old man was taken into custody and charged with manslaughter, attempted murder, robbery, and firearms offenses in connection to Tevaga's death.
