In the Plum Orchard neighborhood of New Orleans, a bright future was extinguished on September 20, 2022. Paige Torregano, a 19-year-old African American woman with aspirations of a career in cosmetology, was fatally shot while she and a friend were getting a tire fixed at a shop on Chef Menteur Highway.
