On August 28, 2022, 11-year-old Manuel "Manny" Carvalho of Hilo, Hawaii, tragically lost his life at Camp Honokaia Boy Scout Camp due to a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred during a "Family Fun Day" event organized by Troop 19, which included activities such as gun and archery shooting.
