On August 28, 2022, 11-year-old Manuel 'Manny' Carvalho of Hilo, Hawaii, tragically lost his life at Camp Honokaia Boy Scout Camp due to a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred during a 'Family Fun Day' event organized by Troop 19, which included activities such as gun and archery shooting.
