In the summer of 1928, the life of Deputy Sheriff Harry Lamb, a 36-year-old Caucasian male, was cut tragically short in an unforeseen accident. On July 17, he was on duty in Warrior, Alabama, when he and the local police chief conducted a traffic stop on the Warrior-Birmingham Highway, pulling over a man for reckless driving. The stop escalated into an arrest, and the two officers proceeded to transport the individual to the local jail.
