On May 8, 2021, 25-year-old Devon Paul Durante was found deceased in Warrior, Alabama, from a gunshot wound. Initially, his death was reported as a self-inflicted accidental shooting.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined that Durante's death was not accidental. On September 13, 2022, the Blount County Sheriff's Office arrested 38-year-old Deanna Jones of Empire, Alabama, charging her with Durante's murder.
