On October 15, 1989, in McCalla, Alabama, 55-year-old Carolyn Worthy and her 67-year-old husband, Acie, were tragically murdered. The couple had just returned home from a Sunday evening church service when they were ambushed in their driveway by unknown assailants. After being shot, their bodies were dragged into their residence, which was then set ablaze in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.
