On June 16, 2022, at approximately 11:08 p.m., 46-year-old Brian Keith Lovoy was fatally shot in his residence on the 5900 block of Coleman Lake Road in McCalla, Alabama. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office reported that Lovoy sustained gunshot wounds during a domestic incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office initiated a homicide investigation, detaining a person of interest for questioning; however, no charges have been announced.
