On May 26, 2019, 52-year-old Linda Cole Jackson was fatally shot in her McCalla, Alabama, home during a domestic altercation. The incident began around 3:00 a.m. when an argument erupted between Jackson and her husband, 39-year-old Belton Eugene Nettles. During the confrontation, Nettles assaulted Jackson's daughter. When Jackson intervened to protect her, Nettles shot her. He then held the daughter at gunpoint for several hours until a family member persuaded him over the phone to release her. ...Read More
