On April 7, 2024, at approximately 4:04 AM, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in the 5600 block of Timber Leaf Road, Bessemer, Alabama. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Lanetta Mechelle Palacios lying unresponsive in a room. McAdory Fire and Rescue pronounced her deceased at the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that Lanetta had suffered blunt force trauma injuries during a domestic assault.
