Keith Edwin Houts, a 30-year-old officer with the Montgomery Police Department in Alabama, tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The incident occurred on September 28, 2006, when Officer Houts was making a traffic stop on North Decatur Street, just a few blocks from the police station.
During the traffic stop, Officer Houts was inflicted with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries two days later, on September 30, 2006.
