On the night of March 28, 2023, 34-year-old African American male Willie Gray was fatally shot in Montgomery, Alabama. At approximately 11:07 p.m., Montgomery police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Budgetel Inn located on the 5100 block of Carmichael Road. Upon arrival, they discovered Willie Gray suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
