In the summer of 2017, the life of 20-year-old Devoytaye Reeves was cut short by an act of gun violence in Montgomery, Alabama. On the evening of Saturday, August 19, 2017, Reeves was fatally shot. The incident prompted an investigation by the Montgomery Police Department, who identified Reeves as the victim of the homicide.
