On a February morning in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 23-year-old Rod’Tavious Keyshawn Hall was cut short. On February 16, 2024, Hall was shot and subsequently died from his injuries, marking another tragic loss to gun violence in the city. The incident prompted an investigation by the Montgomery Police Department, which quickly identified a suspect in the fatal shooting.
Within hours of Hall's death, a warrant for murder was issued for the arrest of Lakevic James Moss. For several weeks, law enforcement searched for Moss. The investigation led them to an apartment on Promlake Court where Moss was believed to be residing. In the early morning hours of March 12, 2024, U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement officers surrounded the residence. After repeated announcements and the use of sirens, Moss, along with three other individuals, exited the apartment and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Following his arrest, Moss was charged with the murder of Rod’Tavious Hall. While in custody, he also faced federal charges related to firearms and drugs that were discovered in the apartment where he was apprehended. The case against Moss for the murder of Rod'Tavious Hall is proceeding through the court system.
