On the night of May 10, 2019, Daniel McCall, a 40-year-old African American male from Montgomery, Alabama, was fatally shot during a gathering in the 800 block of Barnes Street. An argument escalated between McCall and 42-year-old Eric Bouyer of Prattville, leading to Bouyer shooting McCall. Despite sustaining life-threatening injuries, McCall managed to reach Jackson Hospital on his own. He was pronounced dead the following morning, May 11, 2019.
