In the late hours of a Saturday night in August 2023, the body of 45-year-old Dario Juarez was discovered in Montgomery, Alabama. Authorities found the male victim in the 2500 block of Locust Street around 10:55 p.m., and it was determined that he had been fatally shot. The Montgomery Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
For months, the case progressed as investigators worked to identify who was responsible for the
deadly shooting. The investigation eventually led authorities to a 34-year-old Montgomery man named Irvin Messino. By October 2023, Messino was already incarcerated in Calhoun County on charges unrelated to the death of Juarez.
The United States Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force played a role in identifying Messino as the suspect in the murder. In early March 2024, Messino was officially charged with the murder of Dario Juarez. He was subsequently transported from Calhoun County to the Montgomery jail to face this new charge.
