On May 29, 2023, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Montgomery Police and Fire Medics responded to a local hospital after a shooting victim arrived by private vehicle. The victim, identified as 22-year-old African American male Rodarius L. McQueen Sr. from Montgomery, Alabama, had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, McQueen was pronounced deceased at 3:47 a.m.
