On March 30, 2007, 22-year-old Darryontae Plummer was fatally shot at the intersection of 86th Place North and 86th Way in Birmingham, Alabama. Another individual was injured during the same incident. Subsequent investigations led to the arrests of Brandon Varner and Roy Seals, who were charged in connection with the shooting. Both individuals pleaded guilty to murder; Varner received a life sentence, while Seals was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
