Justin McFarland, an 11-year-old boy from Birmingham, Alabama, was tragically killed on July 24, 2008, in what authorities later determined to be a homicide. The incident occurred when McFarland was struck by gunfire in a shooting that took place in the Arlington West End neighborhood.
