On December 20, 2013, 28-year-old Jeffery Burkes Jr. was fatally shot at a residence on Alabama Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred around 11 a.m., with Burkes sustaining a gunshot wound on the front porch of the home. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
