Patrick Duffee, 29, a Black man, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at his residence in the Cusseta community of Chambers County, Alabama. That evening, deputies were dispatched to a home in the 2000 block of County Road 177 after a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Duffee dead at the scene and a second man—identified as Duffee’s stepfather, Steve Sorrells—also suffering from a gunshot wound.
