On June 8, 2014, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a shooting occurred at the Little Harlem Club on Hardin Street in Opp, Alabama, resulting in the death of 20-year-old Demetrice Hines. The incident began with a minor altercation on the dance floor, which escalated when 23-year-old Kanavis Malik Cole of Elba allegedly opened fire inside the crowded venue.
