On November 11, 1927, Policeman Lee Clark of the Opp Police Department in Alabama lost his life in a tragic incident involving gunfire. Clark, who was 43 years old at the time of his death, was involved in a gun battle with an 18-year-old youth and his father, both of whom were alleged bootleggers.
