Jose Raul Cardenas-Ramirez, a 36-year-old Hispanic man, was killed on September 23, 2014, in Hoover, Alabama, after what investigators described as a workplace shooting at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa. In the early morning hours, staff came upon his body in an employee-only area of the hotel, in a basement kitchen section not meant for guests, and police treated the scene as a homicide while the resort continued operating aboveground.
