On May 2, 2015, 23-year-old Nicholas Smith of Birmingham, Alabama, succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head sustained the previous evening. The incident occurred on May 1, 2015, when Smith was shot in the head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he passed away the following day.
